About this opportunity
Mothers for Mothers are looking to recruit volunteers to help support our work with families. You would be welcomed into our experienced team of volunteers and be given full training. The role would be at least 4 hours of your time every week our volunteer roles are designed to fit around your available time. This is a great opportunity to gain experience, develop existing skills, learn new ones and to feel connected to the wider community.

This experience can be invaluable to women seeking a new direction in their own lives and it helps us continue our services to mums in need. Opportunities include working on the helpline, social media help, holistic/beauty therapists, counselling, group volunteers and general assistance – so if you feel you can help us in any way we would love to hear from you.

About you
You will have a lived experience of a Maternal Mental Health issues and be fully recovered for at least 6 months. You will be interested and enthusiastic about the work that we do to support families. You will be well organised and willing to learn new skills.

Volunteers must be prepared to undergo a DBS check and provide an appropriate reference to support their application.

Mothers for Mothers has a committed board of Trustees which is made up of previous service users as well as those with relevant professional skills. This ensures that lived experience remains central to the ethos and values of the organisation and enables us to fulfil our responsibilities as a small charity. The Trustees meet on a quarterly basis and make a commitment to be a board member for a minimum of 2 years to help ensure continuity and quality of service.

We are keen to talk to past service users who might be interested in becoming a Trustee. We are currently looking for potential Trustees with professional experience in fundraising who might be interested in joining us.
