Don’t suffer in silence. We are here for you

perinatal mental health support

As a volunteer

Many women who have been supported by our service, feel that they would like to support other women in their recovery from postnatal illness.

We offer a comprehensive training package and continued supervision. Volunteering offers the opportunity to develop new skills and to feel connected to the wider community. This is invaluable to women seeking a new direction in their own lives and it helps us continue our service to mums in need.

Whether you can give hours or days, our volunteer roles are designed to fit around your available time. Opportunities include working on the helpline, social media help, holistic/beauty therapists, counselling, group volunteers and general assistance – so if you feel you can help us in any way we would love to hear from you.

We ask that you have been well for at least 6 months before you consider a volunteer role. As we are a charity that works with children and vulnerable adults you will need to be DBS checked.

If you are interested, please call the office line on 0117 2397389 or email us at support@mothersformothers.co.uk

AS A TRUSTEE

Mothers for Mothers has a committed board of Trustees which is made up of previous service users as well as those with relevant professional skills. This ensures that lived experience remains central to the ethos and values of the organisation and enables us to fulfil our responsibilities as a small charity. The Trustees meet on a monthly basis and make a commitment to be a board member for a minimum of 2 years to help ensure continuity and quality of service.

We are keen to talk to past service users who might be interested in becoming a Trustee. We are currently looking for potential Trustees with professional experience in fundraising, legal or HR who might be interested in joining us. For more information please call the office line on 0117 239 7389 or email us at support@mothersformothers.co.uk
